Europe imports US jet fuel at 200k bpd, less than ME shortage, while US exports 442k bpd with balance purchased by competitors, subject to increase in US domestic need; EASA to issue guidance about US Jet A to open more US jet fuel exports for Europe, currently restrained to imports of Jet A1.

ME jet fuel supply, 2nd behind AsiaPac, accounted for 31% of all seaborne jet fuel exports during 2025; for Europe, normal 40% of 1m tonnes supply from ME now 20%, partially replaced from US and NG due to: limited volume of certified EU standard Jet A1, smaller transatlantic vessels, competitive buyers in other regions; in East Asia, several countries cut or stopped jet fuel exports, esp China - one of world’s largest jet fuel exporters; airlines, expecting jet fuel supply shortages May-Jun continuing several months, already reducing scheduled flights.
